Terrace Station Spring Woodland & Garden Walks – Sunday 14 Aug, 11 Sept, 9 Oct & 13 Nov

Early spring snowdrops at Terrace Station

Each year Terrace Station opens its woodland and garden for the public to enjoy. First to appear are snowdrops, then violets and crocuses, primroses, daffodils and other spring treasures. A small entry fee goes to the Terrace Station Charitable Trust. No dogs permitted. Arrive between 11am – 3pm and bring a picnic to have on the lawn. Follow directions from the Hororata roundabout (approx. 40 mins drive from Lake Coleridge Lodge).

Terrace Station is significant for having been the home of Sir John Hall who led the Parliamentary campaign for women’s suffrage making New Zealand the first country where women could vote. The homestead is still lived in by family members.
